An artist is forging himself a career teaching people skills from his homeland.
Morgan Muhwati, who is originally from Zimbabwe, leads a weekly stone carving group sharing his talents in creating traditional Shona sculptures.
The Matombo-Tombo group, whose name means stone stones in the Shona dialect, have been together for three years.
Members are now showcasing their talents in their first exhibition at Gallery Oldham.
The sculptures are all made from special rocks imported from Zimbabwe and sourced via a company in Brighton.
But the finished pieces have all been influenced by the Oldham’s heritage.
