MUSIC AT THE SADDLEWORTH SHOW 2020
We have some great entertainment lined up for the Show on 28th June this year with the famous Juba do Leao drumming band www.jubadoleao.com bringing their spectacular mix of Brazilian inspired music and dance to the Arena and their younger group Jubicana performing twice on the stage.
As well on the stage there will be a range of musical acts from 10.00 right through to the close at 5.00p.m.
Highlights include the Oldham and Saddleworth Rock Choir, the Rock Bands from Crompton House School and the Music Centre.
In the Showcase an array of singers, dancers and musicians from Oldham’s own Mahdlo will join Saddlworth Dancers and Blades Academy Rap and Street dancers. Their performances will be complemented by crowd pulling favourites – Baby Ballet and Suzi’s School of Performing Arts.
All age groups and a wide range of tastes will be catered for with a Junior Version of Juba do Leao Jubicana set against the somewhat older skills of the U3A Ukelele Group.
Three Young Electric guitarist groups (EGG 1, 2,& 3) from the Oldham Music Centre will play at intervals throughout the day and the senior group from the Music Centre – the BBC (Blues and Band Club) will complement their programme.
A special feature will be young performers who auditioned for the Wellifest Opener Slot. These talented singers will give individual performances in the afternoon and conclude with a group rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody.
Welcomed back as the Showcase Adjudicator is that star of the local and wider stage Clara Darcy – herself a singer, musician, dancer and actress – well-known for her celebrated performances in Chicago and Brassed Off among many others.
Director of the Showcase, Mel Farrar, said “This is the best line up we have ever had and visitors to the show can be guaranteed a brilliant experience. Come along and grab the best seats at the Show!”
