Fun Dog Show

Jacana is a youth-led, fusion music and dance project based in Oldham for 8-18s, inspired by the music of Brazil and beyond with a UK twist.

We make a massive sound with Brazilian percussion instruments, creating original music with melodic guitars, bass, drum kit and flute thrown into the mix, all combined with vibrant dance choreographies.

Jubacana is run by a team of inspirational young people supported by experienced arts leaders, and aims to reach new heights to show what young people can achieve through arts-based learning and performance. We’re always on the lookout for new members; if you’re aged 8-18 and want to drum, dance, or both, Jubacana is the group for you to try something new.

2021 Duck Race

The Saddleworth Show will again be featuring ducks – not herding them as in some previous years but racing them on the River Tame which flows near the Show site. The annual Duck Race has become an important part of the show’s preparations with schools and Youth groups involved and a stall advertising the show and selling the ducks having a presence in Uppermill (Next to the Hare & Hounds) or Greenfield (Inside Tesco)and at Tesco Huddersfield Road on the four Saturdays and Sundays before the show itself..
We will announce the start for all the ducks at the Show but it will b e around 4pm on Show Day.
Ducks cost £2 or you can adopt 3 ducks for £5
Prizes for the first over the winning line is £250, second £100 and third £50
If things go well then the organisers are hoping for upwards of 2000 ducks to take part. Since this would rather crowd the river (and think of all the duck poo that would mean) the ducks will be plastic rather than feathered!
